Need help in what types of food you can or cannot eat,

By Becky Snyder Thursday, January 27, 2011

My eldest child is obese and has a lot of medical proplems. She has somethng call Factor 5x, diabeties because of the weight, asthma, sleep apnea.

She told me today that you can not eat head lettuce if you are a diabetic. Is that true???

We eat lettuce often in my home. My Grand daughter, becky Sue could eat it every day.

Can some one help me with this?

As long as I know lettuce is encouraged to diabetics for being a green leaf vegetables and because it contains insulin-like component. However, studies have not determined if the insulin in the lettuce can do miracles for diabetics.

To keep safe, discuss with your doctor (perhaps it is something related to other health problems your grand daughter has).

It is my daughter. I will talk to my family doctor next week. It just sound to far fetched to me. Of course I do not know everything. So I will take your advice.

My daughter has so much wrong medically plus she is By-Polar with violent tendencies.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

BECKY
