I have been reading your articles with interest, especially those concerning which type of diabetes a person has.  I am a community organizer of an adult type 1 support group in Howard County Maryland.  I've been a type 1 for over 50 years. No questions there.  But so many of our members have adult onset type 1 or were first type 2 and now are using insulin that they are often asking questions about whether or not they are type 1. I feel a bit (but not a lot) better informed to answer such questions.  Would you ever consider coming as a guest speaker to one of our meetings?

Hi Judy: I certainly would consider a visit if we could time it around my clinical responsibilities. I go to various outpatient sites around the beltway: Upper Marlboro, Annapolis, Rockville, fairfax and DC. Perhaps we could time a visit when I am nearest to your meeting place in the evening? Unfortunately, daytime would be problematic for obvious reasons. Let me know what we could work out.  Thank you for comments and continued interest in my blogs.
