  • It is one week later and I am relieved to be working on my home computer. In fact, I am relieved to to be in my house without sweating or watching Knickers’ endless panting. If you were not aware of the Washington area’s latest natural disaster, I will get you quickly informed. On Friday ...

Congrats on coping so well with not only patients without electricity but also a tree on the roof! Good job!

I have a portable generator, but I never leave it running all night. That saves gas, reduces the noise, and minimizes the risks of carbon monoxide and fire. I run it 4 hours on/4 hours off until bedtime and then leave it off until morning.

My daughter was lucky enough to have Dr Cogen as her endocrinologist since being diagnosed in the fourth grade. She graduated from college this year and will be moving on to other doctors, but we will never forget the excellent care she received from Dr Cogen and the whole team at Children's Hospital. THANK YOU!

Really appreciate the common-sense advice in this blog and enjoy reading it. Although I am an adult dealing with Type 2 Diabetes, I almost ALWAYS find something that I can relate to in your blog.  Thank you so much for your caring attitude and I believe families are lucky to have you in their circle of providers.]

We had some minor problems with the derecho (short term power loss, trees down) as well but did okay.  This is a very helpful reminder.  My family and I are so happy to be among Dr. Cogen's lucky patients.  Glad to know CNMC has good protocols in place for dealing with these unexpected emergencies.
