Both the presentations and the terms thrown around this large conference room are getting longer -- one sweeping glance around the room returns glossed-over faces and fidgeting. But the meeting presses on, its leaders hoping to reach some kind of conclusive finding about the risks of Avandia, GlaxoSmithKline's popular diabetes drug.
The FDA has followed up GSK's presentation by showing several studies of studies (of studies) -- very complex, heavy material -- to an advisery panel.
