I just wanted to tell whoever reads these comments about how well Byetta has worked for me.  I have been overweight since I was 6 years old (I am 38 now) and developed gestational diabetes during both of my pregnancies.  A few months after I delivered my second child I was told I had Type 2 Diabetes, that was almost 8 years ago).  I struggled with my weight as I have for most of my life, but only managed to lose a few pounds.  When I started seeing a new Doctor, he went over my case and told me about Byetta and gave me a trial pack.  I wasn't crazy about having to take shots again after having to administer them during pregnancy.  So I didn't start taking it right away.  In fact I waited a month or two.  When I started taking it I had a few cases of the naseau, but it wasn't bad enough to make me stop.  Within the first month I lost about 10 pounds.  I hadn't changed my eating habits or exercised.  The second month I lost about 15 pounds and the weight has come off ever since.  I haven't changed what I eat just how much I'm eating.  I have never been a big eater, which is why my weight has frustrated me for years.  For me it's not how much I eat but what I eat.  My favorite foods tend to be starches.  And sweets.  I feel full after eating a little bit.  I have been on Byetta for about 13 months now and have lost 58 pounds, Since we just went through Thanksgiving and Christmas a may have put one or two pounds back on, but that's it.  Granted, the weight has severly slacked off.  I'm only losing a couple of pounds a month.  So with the New Year a day away.  I'm going to try and eat healthier and really try to exercise regurlarly.  My goal is to lose 60 more pounds in this year.  I know it will be tougher, but with the weight loss I have already experienced, I am more confident that I will be able to exercise without giving out as easily which for me turns too often into giving up.  I'm hoping my 39th birthday will see me in a single digit sized clothing for the first time in over 2 decades!  P.S.  My Doctor is very happy with my A1C, and all the test they run.  It's possible with my next visit I may be able to reduce my medications and soon be off of them altogether.
