By tina torillo Thursday, June 28, 2007
i havent been on this site long maybe 24 hrs, im insulin resistant as in my own insulin, im not diabetic, but i want to share this with all of you here, it took me forever to see the light in insulin resistance i only wish i had the upbrining with educational parents but i wasnt that lucky, what has keeps me going today on my weight loss and deterination is i have tools and the courage and will to  do whats right for myself, i have no family support this and my alana help with my overeating, and im  happy to say i havent cheated or had a sliver of junk food, for me it is like a alcholic craveing, once i start i cant stop, there, i  keep god close with and he is what brings me thru these tough times i face, as in unexspected setbacks, that noone plans for we all they jus happen, but without my determinationand my kids, and a loving god i dont know how i ever mades drastic changes i was faced with every day fighting to stop my hands from shaking  shoveing food in my mouth to stop from being so irratable food as in junk was my pit, it was all i had,, until i found  a support group, my family is diabetic they carry negative attitudes, but today for the mostpart i do it alone, i exercise alone 99percent of the time, when ur feeling robbed as i am about what u did for 20 yrs it really hurts, deep down, but im working thru that pain of self destruction i did on my own,i know its gonna be some time to get my insulin levels as close to normal as i can , im  ready for that, my kids deserve a healthy mom, they keep me going, i love u kids with every breath i have,,, thanks all ur gr8 here,, and support is so nice appreciated,,

The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse put out an excellent description of the relationship between insulin resistance, prediabetes, and type 2 diabetes. It's at http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/insulinresistance/index.htm

Hope this helps!
