I WAS DIAGNOSED ABOUT 13 YRS AGO I WAS INSULIN RESISTANT,MY DR HAD ORDERED A CATSCAN OF MY ABDOMEN AND LIVER PANCREAS AS WELL TO CHECK FOR DAMAGE, IVE HAD HIGH INSULIN LEVELS FOR LONG LONG TIME, IVE JUS BEEN SO LUCKY,THEY ALSO DREW BLOOD WORK 2 DAYS PRIOR IM WAITING ON RESULTS FROM BOTH, IM REALLY KINDA NERVOUS, AND JUS THINKING THE WORST ,WHEN I WAS DIAGNOSED BACK SUM 12 13 YRS AGO MY LEVELS FASTING WERE 60 THEY ARE NOW 23 IM ALMOST THERE, SOME LABS USE 14 SOME LABS IVE SEEN USE NORMAL RANGE OF 17 SO SOME PLACE IN BETWEEN, IVE GIVEN UP BREAD, MILK, CEREAL, ,ALL JUNK FOOD ALL SODA, BEEN ABOUT6 MONTHS NOW.. I REALLY NEED TO DO THE RESEARCH OF WHAT FOODS ACTUALLY IRRATATE INSULIN SENSATIVITY, ALSO, AND TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM, ANY SUGGESTIONS, OR COMENTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME,, MY CURRENT WEIGHT IS 283.. Hi Tina I read your comments I have been struggling with my sugar levels and I am on metforin and insulin. Its so hard I dont have insurances so i go to a clinic and the last Dr, I had was not that wise with diabetes, I take care of the elderly, and my illness has mess me up Sounds Like you been through a lot . hi susan,, i am not diabetic im insulin resistant,and im not how to answer your questions, what may work for me may not be for you, i try to stay on lower end of Gi gylcem ic index and lower fat foods,lower carb totals, fruits veggies, i walk 1 hr day usally little over 2miles,, 6 days week, consistancy is the key one of many for me, umm 3 square meals 2 snacks, ive given up all soda and junk food, past 9 months, increase water intake, to 2-3 quarts, i do sweat alot,i use 4 c teas or crystal light . i do treat myself by serving once month as atreat, im currently down to 270, which i havent seen in 23 yrs, my body is adjusting and my mind likes to play havic cuzz its says hey what u doing u didnt have this lifestyle whats going on.i was a compulsive over eater id binge for 2 months gain 20 lbs, feel crappy and keep on, but ive learn alot from ppl here ..
for me, this is how i do it..
breafast, lunch supper snack,
try to consistant of same eating times, and exercise, i watch fat intake carb intake protiene, and fiber, i walk 1 hr daily 6 days i change up routines, i take 1 day off, portion control by serving, 2 redmeats week, then beans lean protien/fiber other days, salads, whole grains, rice bread only, no white rice, potaotes once month, no corn, im very choosey im on 1400 calories, and i choose myown meals i create them no specific name brand plan or diet,
