FDA Panel Calls for Stricter Standards for Diabetes Drugs

An FDA panel voted 14-2 in favor of requiring experimental diabetes drugs to show that they don't increase heart or cardiovascular risks.

 

This is bad news for diabetes drugs in the pipeline to be submitted for approval like AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb's drug saxagliptin.
