It's no secret that weight loss is often an essential component to better diabetes management. A new study further reinforces the benefits of weight loss for people recently diagnosed with diabetes.
The study results were published today, August 12th, in the journal Diabetes Care. They key findings, reported by Co-author Dr. Gregory K. Nichols, are that on-average, patients who lost weight following their diagnosis experienced better glycemic and blood pressure control than patients who did not. This held true even if the weight was regained.
