Really good news

I just got my 6month HBa1C results and it was a 5.8! I've gone from 10 to 5.8 in 6 months. Triglycerides from 499 to 102, total cholesterol from 300 to 170 (the lowest it has ever been). And I lost 50lbs. I quit eating fast food and sodas and started eating properly. Doc has taken me off all drugs. Yippee!

I have a question though, my daily checks still have me slightly elevated 110-115, so...

Hypo moment

Two to three hours after a 95carb meal and 44 carb snack which included no added sugar carrot cake but not sugar free icing. yeah kind of defeats the purpose, but it was grandson's birthday. I was feeling weird, dizzy, nauseous, almost pre-migrain aura. Checked glucose fully expecting the count to be in the 130's.

Surprised to see it return a value of 61. Took it again, this time...

Really great news, but why?

I got some really great news, my A1C is now 6.1. Yippee! In November it was 10. I totally overhauled my diet, started exercising, lost 20lbs. Took my metformin religiously, 850 x's 2 daily. My doctor is puzzled. He expected to see improvement but not like this. He's now talking about phasing the drug out. He's happy but still really puzzled. Which has me wondering too.&nbsp...

Monday I was alerted by my eye doctor that I could have diabetes. My vision had change alot since April (actually since October). Saw my gp, took a lot of blood, blood glucose is 345, glucose in urine > 2000. I'm supposed to see him next week for further instructions, maybe even a script. Woowho. One thing I forgot to ask about was this horrible metallic taste in my mouth, I've had for the...
