Hi Manny,
As an addition to your collection of resources I'd like to introduce www.utshealth.com
UTS Health is a free service (with premium membership available) that allows to not only track diabetes stats, blood pressure and weight, but also allows sharing the tracking results on-line (e.g. with doctor, relatives, friends), offers blogging and social networking capabilities (forums, comments, personal messaging).
You may also use the family of desktop and PDA software to track your vital stats offline and then synchronize the data with UTS Health web account.
I hope this resource will be interesting for you and your readers, Manny.
One resource for online tracking, analyzing and reporting tools for Diabetics (Type 2) is DiaSof available on www.HealthierDiabetic.In . DiaSof, not only tracks the sugar levels but also provides for tracking the visits to the doctor where the stats like BP, weight etc are measured along with the medication, exercise and diet regimen are prescribed. DiaSof's reports link the performance to the regimen and therefore makes it see for the diabetic and the physician to see the extent of correlation. DiaSof also generates charts for fasting, post prandial and HbA1C for any period of choice. Further, DiaSof also sends Alerts via email and sms to remind diabetics about thier impending tests and doctor visits and hence helps them stay on course.
There is a Free 7-Day Trial Version which is the full-featured software and those who would like to continue, can pay $10.95 as Annual Subscription ($9.95 via promocode) besides getting access to some sensitive information on better managing or even reversing Diabetes and its complications along with a spate of discounts on partner services.
This website also profiles famous and not so famous Diabetics to provide the much needed inspiration.
Thanks so much for this detailed analysis of the apps out there. I just downloaded Islet and entered my last 3 days of data. Love the ease of use and the fact I can enter events in the past. Looking forward to continuing it's use to see how well it works, but so far - thumbs up! Thank you again Manny!
Thank you for the write up manny!
My goal is to produce a service that brings the benefits of good management but while actually saving time. That is why we spend a lot of time making sure we work with medical devices from either a Macintosh or Windows machine, so you don't have to manually enter every single number. If we don't support your device, we'll give you a complementary free subscription until we do.
Thanks again Manny for the comparison.
