Nutrition, cancer, diabetes, hypo-thyroid, obesity, medical science and research.
My younger sister was diagnosed as diabetic early in 2008. There are a few diagnosed diabetics in our mother's family (discovered whilst doing family history research). I have high insulin levels (although my blood-sugar levels are still normal). I attended a Diabetic Education course with my sister - and am try ing to support her (and others) whilst avoiding becoming diabetic myself. I have a BA (Social Sciences) majoring in History, Geography, and Anthropology. Most of my life I worked as a Public Servant - mainly in the health and social security areas. I have a private pilot's licence and am now retired and widowed. I am a cancer survivor (Rectal cancer treated in 2001). I live in wonderful Western Australia (lucky me). I keep a small flock of rare chickens and have one cat and two toy poodles. I have a voracious appetite for books and (good) food - which shows.
