Byetta weight lost

Byetta has been a God-send to me. I've lost 34 pounds in about 3 months with very little effort. Getting use to the drug's requirements are a little difficult. But once in to it and seeing the weight lost inspires you to stay with it. This weekend I didnt weigh myself from Thursday to Tuesday fearing the bad news. I went out to dinner and ate a good size steak, drink 2 beers and one shot, it was a Stag party, and thought I'd be happy if I didnt gain anything. I lost 3 pounds. Its really amazing. Yes, I felt nausaus especially the first month but that helped me avoid in between eating. I had gastric bypass in 01, lost 80 pounds but regained 55. ive last 34 so far in three months

I started on Byetta three months ago and also had to get used to the nausea but that has since gone away. I have also lost weight since starting Byetta. I was on Avandia and Glyburide and gained 200 pounds. Since stopping the Avandia and Glyburide I have lost almost seventy pounds. And all of the bad side effects from AV. and Gly. have gone away. This is an injectable Protein Medication. It Works fine foe about a month and than it does not work well at all. Than ever person is different. Take at your own rish...Good Luck.

I've been using byetta for over a year, and haven't lost anything.
Are you taking it for diabetes? If so, what you have over the weekend seems a bit extreme, and really bad for sugar control. Some of the problems I've had with byetta are low sugars, which can be very scary, and not too pleasant (sweating, vomiting, weakness, disorientation, etc.). This is really embarrasing when it happens in public, and frightening for family members. I think that using byetta is not an excuse to eat whatever you want, or binge. It is supposed to supress the appetite, which is why I get low sugars -- I can't eat enough to keep them normal. If I am going to babysit the grandchild, I don't use it at all anymore, after I experienced a low while alone with her. a 2 year old can't call 911. Does anyone else have low sugar experiences with byetta?

Wow , this sounds familiar, I also am having trouble controlling low blood sugars while on byetta, i talked to my doctor who suggested i eat within 15 minutes of injecting, but i still have dropped as low as 35 an hour later, which scares my family and myself, i became totally incoherent and my son, who is 17 became emotionally upset, so i know i must of been irrational, which i dont remember. I still have at least once a week that i get a reading of below 50. I am also on metformin , actos, and amaryl. I am not sure if this combo is the problem, or is this usual. I also have noticed a big loss of appetite too.

I will be starting Byetta tomorrow (7/11/07). What are the side effects, if any? When you lost the weight did you follow a specific plan or just cut down on eating. Thanks

You will feel nausaes (spell) at first and the degree varies. My mother in law couldnt take it and stopped using it. I did throw up a few times, twice in two months. However, that feeling which lessens is part of the weight loss. You dont feel like eating between meals and your portions can be less with the medicine. I have seen that it effects people diffrently. Some people dont lose as quick or very little. Good luck

I just started Byetta 3 weeks ago and have never really had any problems with it other than feeling really full much faster and much longer than usual. I have lost about 7 lbs. in that time mostly due to this side effect I think. I have found that taking Gylburide with the Byetta is probably not a good idea. It seems to raise rather than lower my blood sugar. According to what I read online this is probably due to beta cell distruction which is one fo the things Glyburide can do. One good thing...no more lower leg cramps but I'm not really sure why.
