I exercise every day and also watch my diabetic intake. But I am still tired and have no energy. I just turned 50 and do not have much stress. I need to loose about 40 pounds. My question is why am I so tired still?
You don't mention your blood sugar numbers -- if they are still high, then the diabetes control is probably part of your tiredness.
Other possible reasons include
1) underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), which occurs quite commonly with diabetes -- ask your physician to check a blood test to look for this (usually a "TSH" test is what's ordered; a high value probably indicates low thyroid function).
2) medication side effects (depending of course on what you're taking!)
3) other medical conditions. Most of these can be diagnosed with a good physical exam and a few blood tests.
People who need to lose weight also have a tendancy to suffer from sleep apnea. We think we're sleeping at night but we're not resting. My daughter is only 30lbs over weight was just diagnosed and was prescribed a Cpap (I think that is the name) machine to help her breathe at night. You might ask your doctor is a sleep study is in order for you too!
Let us know how you are doing!

Definitely check with your physician!
Hope this helps.
