I love it!! This just made my day! I am patiently waiting for a pancreas transplant. I had one in '06 but I got an infection and they had to take it out after only 2 weeks! So, now I have antibodies and am a hard match. I am also going to have a kidney transplant, my brother is my exact match.
I have had diabetes 40 years. I have worked for JDRF in the past and for the Diabetes Treatment Centers of America. If you ever need a person to be in a trial give me a shout.
Thank you for your happy news.
Did you read the sharepost on AAT and Dr. Eli Lewis? This really pertains to your situation! Food for thought!
My blog on the AAT concept that Dr. Lewis investigated.
This post was written by Dr. Lewis. Trials for AAt are currently underway and in a couple more weeks they will retest the first patient to check AAT levels! Feel free to leave Dr. Lewis a comment, he generally answers them.
Here's the link to the blog on the Trials.
Very good news, Ann. Wonder if they will pursue study in pediatric age groups?
I think so! According to Dr. Levetan, she was inspired by a pediatric patient she was working with. I'll keep you posted.
