Good job no one is checking my fridge. They'd find a box of cheeses left from when I worked at a cheese factory. I think that was 15 years ago, or more. I'd call them well aged. Also, a box of batteries. Lots of little dishes of unknown substances. I have to wait until they're definitely moldy before I can throw them out.
Jars and jars of homemade kefir in various stages of fermentation.
Oh yes. And meats and fresh veggies. I live 20 miles from the nearest supermarket, so I have to buy a week's worth at a time. Sometimes they're past their prime before I can get more, especially in blizzard season, so I do keep frozen as spares. I have a chest freezer in the barn, containing a whole lamb cut, wrapped, and frozen, not whole, although I did once stick a pet sheep in there because I wanted to bury her in the spring. Every time I opened the freezer, I was startled by the sight of hooves.
So I don't ever plan to photograph my fridge/freezer!
Thanks Ann and David for being braver than I am.
I felt pretty self conscious about opening the door to my fridge! In fact, to keep it honest, I didn't allow myself to clean it, organize it or change what was lingering in their for years. Boy, was that so hard!
The vodka in the fridge has been there 10 years! I have no idea why we continue to leave it there. My task NOW is to clean it out and start over with fresh stuff that I can forget about again!
Dear Ann,
I also hope that we can share a meal soon, as long as you do the cooking! One of my tricks of staying think is that I am a totally unskilled cook. And actually we do have a different looking fridge -- mine has very little inside of it. I guess that I will have to come to your house!
David
My home is always open to friends from the DOC, and I will make us something with capers! There are few who like capers, but I love capers! I snack on a couple of the bigger caper berries, sometimes with a slice of good cheese.
Thank you for playing along David! I'm well on my way to a completely low carb plan!
