Frustrated with daughter's doctor!

My daughter was diagnosed as a diabetic Type 2 in 2006 and has been able to control her diabetes by weight loss, diet (low carb) and exercise.  She dropped 60 pounds (from 275) and has been able to maintain the weight loss and keep her blood sugar in control.  She will be 39 in October.   About eight months ago her family doctor... Read moreChevron

The first day of the rest of my life

The title of this post is something I think about every day-the rest of my life.  I have had type 2 diabetes for 12 years now.  I was diagnosed shortly before my mother died-of complications of diabetes.  She was 61.  Her mother died of complications of diabetes also at the age of 61.  See the pattern here?  I am... Read moreChevron
