Q: Metformin, can it raise your blood presure?

I have used Metformin for 5 days. Didn't feel well yesterday, Myblood pressure was up to 180X 115. Could Metofrmin be the cause?

Hi William,

Thanks for your question. Metformin is not known to cause an increase in blood pressure, but medications can affect people differently. If you are concerned about the increase, or if it persists, you may want to discuss this with your doctor. You can read more about metformin and its side effects here.
