I am recently diagnosed as well and my doctor wants me to check my levels every morning fasting.  Your doctor should have given you instructions and a monitor.  If not, I would ask why.  Everyone is different, but I believe that monitoring is a key to getting your diabetes under control.

Thank you Kellianna for answering my question. I think maybe he is not asking me to check my blood sugar levels because I am an anxious person and he doesnt want me to worry. However the next time I visit him I will ask him why. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. It was very much appreciated. Carol.
