Effect of hand sanitizer on BG readings?

I like to take a bottle of hand sanitizer with me when I go hiking.  It lets me clean my hands before I test my BG.  But I was wondering if it had any influence on the BG result?  I can taste the alcohol on my skin if I put my finger in my mouth, and I know that alcohol afffects BG when you drink it....
