I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 17 weeks. I'm currently at 28 weeks. I test my glucose levels and I take insulin. What are the consequences if my levels are still randomly over 120? Does that hurt my baby every time it happens?

The more often you check your blood sugars and give them to your doctor they should be able to make ajustments accordingly. This will keep doctors on top of what is going on with your pregnancy. It will generally disapate after birth.

Congrat's! I am a diabetic and was pregnant. I know it can be a hard and frustrating thing. If you numbers are over 120 every once in a while it will not hurt the baby. Continue to check your bg's and your physician will be able to make adjustments.  I know when I was prego the further I got in the pregnancy the higher my bg's would get. I hope all is will, take care.
