It can be OK if you are well controlled after meals, or if your A1C is < 6.5 or trending down, or if you are losing weight.  If any/all of the above, the only way to get it lower would be insulin.

However, if you are not in otherwise good control, I would focus in on your sugar after you eat- this will be easier to change by changing your CHO intake.  Remember the overall goal is to live a healthy lifestyle, so you can only control what you eat- fasting sugar is up to your genes and medicine.

Good luck and remember- if you fast long enough the sugar will eventually come down :)

Susy-

Hi! most physician's like you to be under 100, so 115-120 isn't bad at all. I was having the same issue with my FBS.  I cut the number of carbs I ate at night, did away with the bedtime snack and I incorporated evening walks.  It has helped so farSmile.  You might want to keep in mind that if you are having your monthly your FBS will be elevated a little bit. Your 3 month average (A1C) is a good test but you have to be able to maintain your bg's and by doing so you have to check your bg's and report anything that may seem a little off.  Consult with your Physician and see what happens.

Take care
