Q: is there a relation to jaw pain and diabetes

My friends blood sugar levels dropped to 31. Now he has jaw pain, can hardly open his mouth. He is talking fine not slurring words.

I would strongly recommend that your friend see a doctor urgently.

There are many, many causes of jaw-pain - some of which can be very serious. Go to www.wrongdiagnosis.com for a list of possible causes - but do not "self diagnose".

Metformin makes my lower jaw ache to the point I have to take otc pain meds.  Now that I'm on Byetta and low dose glipizide I just have moments of jaw pain, but at least not constant pain.

 

I haven't been able to find much on the web about it.
