I have been married over 15 years.  I have notices my wife, who has had diabetes since age 4 has more extreme mood swings as the years go by.  What once was tolerable is now something that will ruin the day.  I thought it was her blood sugar and at times have been correct.  However, she gets upset when I suggest she test her sugar.

I wish I had an answer for you.  A doctor once told me as a diabetic gets older their personality can change to being very difficult to be around.  I do not know if this is a symptom of neuropathy but it is very difficult.

Even though I may not have answered your question I do feel your pain.
