Q: My diabetes is not under control. Take Byetta and sometimes insulin. Blood sugars seldom below 200.

Always hungry. Recently read that fat was good and carbs were to be limited. Who has the right diet for me? Am 59 years of age, overweight, and always tired.

Hello! I agree with Jam, you should consult your Physician because if your not getting full you may need to alter what your eating.  Your bg's not under 200 isn't a good thing.  Do you carb count or do you do the exchange?. Do you take insulin before you eat? You Physician may need to adjust your insulin or add something to your routine. Exercise is one for the keys to maintaining a healthy life, here click here for good exercise tips.. I would call your Doctor. If you're always hungry, and not getting your fill then maybe he can adjust your insulin rates.

Never being below 200 is not a good thing.

Do you like healthy foods? Because fats like meat and such are better then carbs when your blood sugar is high, but fats are just not that healthy in general. I would look into salads, and whole-grain carbs. I know they are not the most tasty-but until they get your blood sugar down it is probably they best idea. Chicken is a good source of protein, and no carbs as well.

Does your Doctor know that you are always tired? I would check into that. It's very good for esp type 2 diabetes to get some sort of exercise.

We want you to live a LONG healthy life :)

Blessings!
