Debra-

Hello! Your husband could be having a bout with either the Dawn Phenomenon or the Somogyi Effect. I have had issues with the Dawn Phenomenon, never experienced the somogyi effect.  Click here, it will take to you to dlife.com it will explain the difference between both.  I tamed the Dawn Phenomenon by lowering the amount of carbs I eat, cutting out my bedtime snack and trying to do moderate exercise.  If your Husband continues to have issues with his morning BG's you should call his Physician.
