Hi Walter-   Thank you for your question. Januvia is not known to cause joint pain. However, every medication affects every person differently. I would strongly suggest that you speak with your doctor about this. There are many other diabetic medications available, and one of those may be better for you. It's important that you don't stop taking the Januvia without speaking to your doctor - you don't want your diabetes to get out of control. That being said, Januvia has a small effect on blood sugar control when compared to other medications, so there may be a better option available for you. I hope this helps. Casey
