Hi Worried Mami,   Thank you for your question! Taking the wrong dose of insulin can possibly lead to serious side effects. Taking too much insulin can lead to low blood sugar, known as hypoglycemia. There is a great deal of information at this page, including how to recognize the signs of hypoglycemia, how to deal with hypoglycemia, and activities that can lead to hypoglycemia. On the other hand, taking less insulin than you need can also be a problem. Lack of insulin can lead to hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar. It's important to carefully measure the dose of insulin that you are to administer. You can talk to your doctor or pharmacist of you have more concerns about the dose that was administered.   Best of luck, Casey
