take 1/2 of your total daily requirement- this is your basal dose- if you are type 1, they may run sugar water in your veins, along with insulin, for stabilization during the surgery- good luck, and remember- you'll wake up in a better place :)

Hi! I would love to tell you have to adjust your insulin for surgery, but I can't.  You should consult with your physician and he or she can tell you how to adjust your insulin for surgery.  Even though I have diabetes, what works for me may not work for you.
