Q: On the food label when it says there are 18 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber and 22 grams total carbs

On the food label when it says there are 18 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber and 22 grams total carbs, what does this mean? Are they naturally occuring sugars, added sugars or what? This is very confusing.

Thanks for your help,

Janetta

not sure why it matters, but the sugar is added sugar- i agree that it's unnecessarily confusing- i always just look at total carbs- that adds up all the sugars and their derivatives

good luck, and remember- sugar by any other name would taste as sweet :)
