Sounds like the staff there may have information intolerance :)- Glucose intolerance is when the blood sugar (glucose) remains high after eating.  Normally, when you eat carbohydrate (sugar), blood sugar will rise- then your pancreas pumps out some insulin , which causes the sugar to fall back to normal. So glucose intolerance means your husband's insulin isn't working well, or he is not producing enough insulin.  This is probably not a big deal right now, but over time, high blood sugar can damage the body.   My advice: 1- Anyone in husband's familly have diabetes?- if so, I hate to say it but it is likely he will develop it (diabetes is a progressed form of GI).  In this case, I would get a Hemoglobin A1C (a simple blood test).  If higher than 6.5, he will likely need medicine. 2- Has he gained weight recently?- if so, if he can lose the weight (at least 5% of his current weight), then the GI may 'go away'- diet and exercise is the best medicine 3- eat less carbs (starch, sugar, juice, sweets) and more veggies and protein (a whole chicken has no sugar at all) good luck, and remember, informed patients are the best patients
