Willsmom-
I am not sure how many carbs you are allowed. I am a diabetic and here is an example of the amount of carbs I eat on a daily bases. I try to stick to it some says are a little harder than others. What works for me may not work for you. I count carbs instead of doing the exchange. I am on insulin and carb counting is a lot easier to do. You may want to talk to your Physician or a nutritionist to make sure you are getting the right amount of carbs your body needs.
Sample of my the amount of Carbs I eat per meal:
breakfast 30g of carbs
snack 15g of carbs
lunch 25-30g of carbs
dinner 25-30 carbs max 40, I eat 40g every once in a while.
Here is a link to our Diabetes Diet information, it list different meal planning tools, weight management and much more.
Good Luck,
