Hi CRK,

Our expert, David Mendosa, answered a similar question last week. The question asked whether or not it was recommended to use Byetta and Januvia together. David wrote that, Byetta and Januvia had not been approved to be used together. Since, Januvia and Lantus both work to lower blood sugar, I assume the same is true for Lantus and Byetta.

Hi,

Thank you for your question. At this time, Byetta is not approved for use with Lantus. It is only approved for use with two classes of diabetic medications - biguanides (metformin) and sulfonylureas (glipizide, glyburide, and glimepiride). I hope this helps.

Best of luck,

Casey
