Kevin-

You can find out you have diabetes through urine test! The good thing is someone found it and your not in the hospital. Here is a link to someone information about diabetes testing.  You should go to the Doctor so he or she can run further testing just to confirm what the nurse told you.

Take care

Well, it could have been worse- she could have found some cannibanoids floating around in there! :)

There are 3 possibilities: 1- your urine was high in sugar

                                  2- high in ketones

                                  3- high in both

3 is the most likely to mean diabetes, but it is also potentially dangerous! (then she should have referred you for a blood sugar check immediately) So I'm gonna guess it wasn't 3.

1 is the next most likely, although it could also be from an infection.  So if you're not sick, you should have your blood sugar checked.

2 is the least likely IF you starved before the urine check (starvation raises ketones).

So, you can't diagnose diabetes from urine, without ruling out infection or starvation.  Either way, simply get a blood sugar test, and you'll know for sure.

Best of luck- and remember, even if they hire you, you still can't party because of the random drug testing :)
