Q: what do i do if my blood pressure is high

hello i am staying with my grandfather over the summer and basically i'm here to help him get his diabetes stuff together my father has it and his mother to and i helped her get hers straight well my grandmother knows exactly when my grandfathers sugar is high he becomes very sleeply and basically thats all he does so we tested his sugar and on the meter all it said was hi (meaning high) what i want to know what does that mean like is it to high to read or what, and how do we bring his sugar down if it is high .

It's great that you're staying with your grandfather to help him with his diabetes!

 

I did some research and some meters give a reading of "Hi" when blood glucose levels exceed the highest number that the system can handle.

 

The best way to keep blood sugar levels down (when medication is not working) is regular exercise and a healthy diet. Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous, but if you could walk with your grandfather for about thrity minutes a day it would help tremendously!
