Q: Exercise elevating blood sugar

It seems that exercise causes my blood sugar to elevate?? I thought it would cause it to drop?

Funny that you mention thisSmile! After exercise I check my bg's they are high. Have you tried checking your bg's 30-45 minutes after? I check my bg's 30-45 minutes and it's lower. During physical activity your body releases the sugar stored in your muscles and liver in order to provide energy. When your body is excited, like during exercise, it releases a hormone called adrenaline. Adrenaline releases the stores of sugar in your muscle and liver and results in raised blood sugars.
