Jen-

Hello! I don't think your wrong. I have been on insulin for about 7 months and I have gained weight, maybe about 8 pounds.  Speaking from my own experience, I was told by my Endo that my body is back to normal and not starving from what it was lacking which is insulin. I have cut back on my carbs and it has helped me maintain the weight that I currently am.  I am slowly put surely trying to exercise again. You are not alone. I know there are a lot of people who pick up weight after they start insulin.

Hello,

I have gained 30 pounds in two years on Lantus.  I had NO TROUBLE maintaining a good weight when I was on Humulin N at night.  Since switching to Lantus even diet and exercise has not helped.

I have been Type I since 1985 and have been on all insulins.  I have gained approx 25lbs in the last 24months+ I have been on Lantus/Humalog.  I was a bean poll when I was on Humalin NPH/R.  I hardly eat anything and can not loose any consistant weight while taking this insulin.

Hi,

I gained 26 lbs. from May-August from Lactus/actos. Providers are like that shouldn't happen but not everyone can tolerate ACTOS without signfigant weight gain and getting off weight as a diabetic is hard enough. I have degenerative Arthritis in both knees and walking and exercises are done but not continously depending on mobilty for the day/week.
