Q: Why does the FDA prevent the importing of badly needed pork insulin with their badly worded forms?

Why does the FDA prevent the importing of badly needed pork insulin by requiring a doctor to sign a form that is worded in such a manner that no doctor in good conscience would sign? Knowing that the FDA's forms will prevent importing pork insulin, then why does the USDA want $133.00 for a first year permit fee for importing pork insulin? Who is really threatened by importing badly needed pork insulin into this country, when it is not available in this country? There's something really wrong here.

The reason is simple, it is because of greed.  The drug companies have a monopoly with the insulin and do not want to change.  The FDA works closely with the drug companies.  I'm sure the FDA doesn't want to upset say Eli Lilly.  I believe Eli Lilly knows there is a problem with the DNA insulin.  The human (which isn't human) insulin hits very hard and has no duration.  The pork and beef insulin works much better.  You can tell when sugar levels are dropping and the durations last longer.  I believe it is cheaper and easier to produce the DNA insulin for the drug companies.  The drug companies (Eli Lilly for one) do not care that the pork and beef insulin works better.  Doctors push the insulin pump.  Diabetics would not need the insulin pump if the human (which isn't human) insulin worked as well as the pork and beef.  The insulin pump is a band-aid for the inadequate DNA (human, which isn't human) insulin.  Newer technology, especially dealing with human beings isn't always the right answer.  Man will never match what God and mother nature created.
