Q: I have a Byetta qestion. I have been getting red itcy bumps at injection site. what is wrong?

I have been using Byetta since July. I went through all the usual side effects. They all passed. Since my last byetta pen started on 9/15 I have developed red itchy bumps (like insect bites) at all my injection sites. I have been applying hydrocortisone cream to help the itching. I keep changing the injection sites, that didn't matter. I was wondering if this was another annoying side effect that will go away with a new pen. OR if it could possibly be caused from the  type of needles that I am using. It started with a new box that were a different type. I refuse to give up Byetta, I have lost 15 pounds so far. BS are great. I am tired of itching though..lol.

Any suggestions? I have read about others having this side effect and wonder what they have done about it.

I take the 5 mg shot 2 times a day. The bump is immediate when I give my shot.

It started 9/15. I start a new pen on 10/15. I will be seeing my doctor on 10/25. I have not called and reported this yet because I keep thinking it will go away.

any answers will be appreciated.

thank you

Sue
