Q: Very High Fasting Insulin Level - Possible Diabetes?

I recently had a serum fasting insulin test.  The results showed a very high level of 227 uIU/ML or converted to 1555 pmol/l.  I know the maximum should be less than 17 uIU/ML.  Does this test indicate diabetes or simply insulin resistance.  My glucose level was 101.

Thanks very much!

Wow! that is very high.  I am not a Doctor but it sounds like to me you may be a Diabetic.  Do you have access to a diabetic monitor? If you do, you should try checking your bg's after each meal and fasting.  Did you Doctor tell you what the results mean?
