Q: hey i check my two year son blood sugar and it was 77 at first he was dizzing and sweating about to faint. what is the normal blood suagr for a two year old

To Mom: The first question is to ask if your son has diabetes. If your child does not have diabetes, 77 mg/dl is considered normal (it is even considered in range depending on the age of a child with diabetes). It also depends when you check your child's blood sugar as it may be over 100 mg/dl after eating. Generally, people do not experience symptoms of hypoglycemia unless blood glucose is < 70 mg/dl. However, if someone has diabetes and there is a rapid drop of blood sugar, they may experience the symptoms you describe above.
