Q: Does nicotine directly affect a diabetic's blood sugar?

I'm 15 and I'm trying to break the habit of smoking, and I've cut down, but my pediatritian told me that smoking has a direct effect on my Blood Sugar. I don't know if this is true, or if it's just a scare tactic to get me to quit smoking immediately.

i would listen to the doctor. i had gestational diabetes and i considered ignoring the advice, needless to say when itwas up to me to poke myself and see the numbers 4 myself... i could no longer deny what was in front of my face. High numbers unless I did my part. my girl was born a healthy 7 lbs 1 oz. when it looked like she was 5 oz heavier bout 5 weeks earlier by ultrasound. Reply
