does type 2 diabetes lower your sex drive for men over 45
Hi Brandon,
There is an article by Diabetes Care, from April 2007, that suggests that it is common for diabetic men to have lower testosterone levels causing a lack of sex drive. You can read that article here. Diabetic Neuropathies can also cause loss of sex drive as outlined here in this overview.
That coupled with medications commonly prescribed for diabetes and other ailments can affect performance as well.
Hope this helps. While online sites are great places to get the information you need to ask all the right questions, they should never take the place of your doctor's sound medical advice.
Take care and stay in touch!
