Q: Fit for Life eating plan...good for diabetics?

One of my friends has started using the Fit for Life plan.

He eats only fruit from the time he gets up till noon, and then eats vegies the rest of the day.

He has protein 3 times per week, but never 2 suppers in a row.

He tries to have protein Mon, Wed, and then Fri OR Sat.

He says his numbers are great...he has lost about 30 lbs and the doc has taken him off some of his diabetes and BP meds.

Have any readers familiar with this eating plan?

To me it sounds like too much fruit.

I am 6'2" and about 210 lbs...so, I could stand to lose 10-20 lbs.

Thanks in advance for any information or suggestions.

Looks like your friends is headed for trouble "big time" .  Personally I would not recommend this eating plan.

Fruit should eaten in very limited amounts, and vegetables contain mostly carbs, and carbs raise your blood sugar.

Protein should be eaten at every meal , not three times a week.

I suggest that you read ProteinPower by Dr.s. Michael and Mary Dan Easdes and Diabetes Solution by Dr. Bernstein. These books will put you on the right track
