Q: My bg have been good , but this morning it was 159, I am concerned, can't think of anything differen

other than I had a couple of cups of french vanilla coffee last night that I brewed in the late evening.   Could that have done it.

Well simply a cup of French Vanilla would be fine as long as it does not contain sugar (CARBS). You can eat and drink what you like, but if the carb count on the box is from sugar you are going to raise your blood sugar. Also stress will raise it as well with out a large intake of sugar since your liver produces glucose in stressfull times (Glucophage is one of the drugs made for this very reason it reduces Glucose made by the liver). Also as you are inactive while you sleep anything taken in late at night will exacerbate your sugars going up since you will be burning less carbs as well. Be very mindful of what you take in several hours before going to bed. If you must snack or have a craving try eating some almonds or sugar alcohol treats as sugar alcohol will not impact your BG. Learn more about carbs and how to control them. This will help you maintain a more healthy lifestyle and keep things under control.
