Q: My mothers balance has got bad,is that a factor of diabetes

My mother has lung cancer and developed type 2 diabetes during her treatment. She has been doing well but recently but i have noticed her balance has got bad and her feet are swollen most of the time. She is currently on steroids and this has resulted in her sugar levels being high.To be truthful she hasnt been sticking to a strict diet and consumes alcohol and eats sugary foods.I am concerned and wondering is her balance connected to diabetes?

John-

Hello! I am not a physician but it sound like your mother's Equilibrium may be off. You should call the Physician and explain to them what's going on.  I would also see if you could at least get your mother to test her bg's. Since, she is drinking and on steriods that's not a good mix. Steriods could make her bg's extremely high. Drinking could make her bg's low.  I hope your Mom get's better.
