George-   You are actually doing okay.  I am also diabetic and I was having problems keeping my 2 hour after meal glucose levels down.  I would see 8 to 11 after meals and for about 2 weeks.  I went back and lowered the amount of carbs I was eating and now my post meal readings are 5 to 8 two hours after I eat.  When I eat dinner at night I try to not have more than 30-45g of carbs and I try not to eat a lot of pasta or breads before bed.  Now fasting blood glucose levels, try not to eat a snack that is high in carbohydrates and David Mendosa is an expert here and he wrote a sharepost about the Dawn Phenomenon http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/c/17/1388/taming-dawn, I think this link would help you out with your fasting glucose levels.   Cherise Community Moderator
