Q: Why is Insulin taken at bedtime not controlling my blood sugar by morning?

I take a delayed action insulin at bedtime, but my blood sure is still high (225+) in the morning when I check it.  It really does not seem to matter what I eat.  I get the best results eating chicken breast and pasta with olive oil and garlic the night before, but that gets old in a hurry.

Does anyone have suggestions?

I know how frustrating this can be!  It could be dawn phenomenon, something a lot of us with diabetes get!  Bummer! Foot in mouth

Here's some blogs on Dawn Phenomenon:

You should consult with your doctor about it as well, they may need to adjust insulin for it!
