Q: Can Ketones be treated?

As I was checking my blood sigar, my meter showed that I had Ketones in my urine. Is there some treatment or medication thar my doctor can give me?

I am the mother of a Type 1 diabetic.  When he has ketones, he drinks water if the amount is trace and insulin for anything above trace.

 

Ketones are created by people without diabetes.  Many times if you go without eating, the body breaks down the fat and this shows up as ketones.
