Is Glyburide OK to take with Glucophage?

My elderly mother takes Metrformin ER, and was taking Glyburide also. With the confusion in taking care of her, I am trying to find out if a mistake was made, or she is to be taking both medications. Precribed are Metformin ER 500MG 2 tabs twice daily as well as Glyburide 5MG @ 1-1/2 tabs daily.Did I read this wrong? Waiting for Doctor to confirm, but dont want to harm her if its wrong.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your question. It is okay for her to be taking both medications together. In fact, there is a combination pill made with both glyburide and metformin as ingredients.

Best of luck,

Casey
